9th~10th week, Fall 2021 Plans, Undergraduate Program (as of October 12, 2021)

1. Object

▣ As the social distancing standard ‘Stage 4’ continues and the government`s phased recovery plan to normal(with COVID-19)” might be applied after Nov. 9, 2021,

    classes of Undergraduate Program will be operated based on online until 10th week of the fall semester and face-to-face classes will be limited to major classes.

▣ As concerns about learning deficits in classes required with experiment, practical training are intensifying due to the prolonged social distancing Stage 4,

    standards for face-to-face classes will be eased.

▣ In accordance with the government`s phased recovery plan to normal(with COVID-19)” and the Ministry of Education`s academic management plan,

    the class operation plan may re-adjusted, and after the preparation process, face-to-face classes will be expanded starting from the 11th week of the semester.

 

2. Plans (9th ~ 10th week)

▣ When: 2021.Oct.27.(Wed.) ~ Nov.9.(Tue)

▣ Plan

1) Limited face-to-face classes are allowed by applying the social distancing step-Stage 4 at this point.

    2) Face-to-face classes for theory classes from major are allowed within maximum of 9 students,

        and classes from major required with theory, experiment, practical training and experiment, practical training, practical work are allowed

        within maximum of 19 students, under the permission of the KMU COVID-19 Emergency Planning Committee.

    ※ Courses that are not approved for face-to-face classes must be conducted online.

    3) Density compared to classroom capacity

        - Less than 1/3 (Spacing two seats)

        ※ In the case of moveable seats, keep the distance between the desks based on the spacing of two seats.

        - Less than one person per 6 for classrooms with no seats.

3. Principles

▣ Online classes will be conducted with online live lectures or with recorded lectures, and in 2 mixed forms.

    ※ notes for online lectures

The attendance will be counted when the video lecture is playedand the attendance standards will be applied same as the face-to-face classes.

- Simultaneous playback of video lectures will be considered as double attendance, and attendance management of classes that grant credits is strictly managed,

   so simultaneous playback is not possible.

 

▣ Face-to-face classes

    1) Instructors and students must follow the guidelines such as keeping the social distance, wearing masks

       and also must secure a classroom capacity to meet the criteria such as maximum number of participating students and the density

       compared to the number of students in the classroom.

       If the number of students exceeds the standard, the instructor needs to change a classroom to bigger or needs to secure additional classrooms.

    2) Providing online classes simultaneously and prohibiting reverse discrimination against those who do not attend offline classes

        ※ Instructors provide online classes for those who can’t attend the offline classes due to their status staying overseas or in local area, in quarantine,

           those who do not agree to attend face-to-face classes, those who cannot participate due to an adjustment of the number of face-to-face class enrollments, and etc.

 

    3) Following the guidelines on COVID-19 prevention

        - Taking temperature at front and back gates of school, equipping hand sanitizers in each classroom, wearing masks, replacing microphone covers,

           refreshing the air frequently in classrooms, following the guidelines when using some equipment required air circulation like air conditioner  

        - Not allowed to attend offline classes for those who have any symptoms of COVID-19(fever, respiratory symptoms, etc.)

        - Mandatory for those who have any symptoms of COVID-19 to report in advance to their instructor by K*TALK, E-mail, etc. and to be in quarantine

        - No disadvantage in attendance for those who can’t attend offline classes due to any symptoms of COVID-19

 

    4) Each department operates offline classes under their own plan for COVID-19 prevention

       - Instructors shall maintain the rules by keeping social distance between students, wearing masks, assigning seats, etc. as a person who in charge of prevention.

 

   5) Indoor sports facilities(judo gym, gyms, etc.), other facilities(computer rooms, etc.), outdoor sports facilities(playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc.)

       are open only for offline classes.
