국민대, 메모리얼 대학교와 MOU 체결

지난 5월 본교 대외교류처장 정승렬 교수는 캐나다 뉴펀들랜드주의 메모리얼 대학교와 MOU를 체결하였다. 이번 협약은 두 기관간의 교류 및 연구를 위해 체결되었으며, 협약식에는 본교 정승렬 대외교류처장과 메모리얼 대학의 국제화센터장 Sonja Knutson, 대학원장 Noreen Golfman 박사 등이 참석하였다.
이번 협약으로 양 기관은 예술, 과학, 비지니스 등 다양한 분야에서의 협력을 통해, 연구 및 교육 분야와 학생 교환 프로그램 등에 있어 활발한 교류를 진행할 예정이다.
정승렬 대외교류처장은 지난 4월 사우디 아라비아 국제 교육 박람회에서 메모리얼 대학교 대표자와 만났으며, 이번 방문에서 메모리얼 대학교의 International centre, 대학원, 경영학부 등을 방문하고, 두 대학의 적극적인 교류를 위해 협약을 체결하게 되었다.
메모리얼 대학교는 1925년 개교한 세인트 존스에 위치한 공립 종합 대학교이며, 학생수 약 1만8천여명 정도로 여러곳에 캠퍼스를 가지고 있으며, 세인트 존스에 위치한 메인 캠퍼스가 있다.
이번 교류를 통해 메모리얼 대학교는 학생 교류 프로그램 등 적극적인 교류 의지를 보이고 있다. 또한, 메모리얼 대학교 홈페이지의 기사를 통해 이번 MOU가 메모리얼 대학의 국제화 전략에서 주목할만한 성과라며 한국학생 유치에 큰 기대를 보이고있다.
