국민대학교, 미국 아이오와 주립대학교와 교류협정 체결

2010년 2월 23일 국민대학교는 미국 아이오와 주립대학교와 학생 교류 프로그램에 대한 협정(MOU/MOA)을 체결하였다.
협정은 크게 두 가지로 나누어 진행되었는데, MOA는 국민대학교 컴퓨터공학부(School of Computer Science)와 아이오와주립대학교 컴퓨터공학과(Department of Computer Science) 간의 파트너쉽에 관한 내용었으며, MOU는 국민대학교 전자정보통신대학(College of EECS)과 아이오와주립대학교 문리과대학(College of Liberal Arts and Sciences) 간의 전반적인 파트너쉽에 관한 내용이었다.
아이오와 주립대학교 에서는 컴퓨터 공학부 학부장인 Carl K. Chang 교수가 이 두 협정서 서명 파트너인 학부장, 학장, 대외 부총장의 서명을 미리 받아 대표의 자격으로 참석하였으며, 우리 대학에서는 한재일 컴퓨터학부장, 우종우 전자정보통신대학장, 장덕준 대외교류처장의 서명 후 이성우 총장의 서명으로 두 대학 간 협정이 최종 승인되었다.
앞으로 두 대학은 2+2 복수 학위 프로그램, 국민대학교 학부 졸업 후 아이오와 주립대에 진학하는 4+2 연계 학위 프로그램, 교수 및 교직원 방문 프로그램, 협동연구 프로그램이 진행될 예정이며, 학술 및 연구 정보 교환의 활성화가 이루어질 예정이다.
이 자리에서 이성우 총장은 두 대학 간 협정에 대한 제의를 하고, 협정서를 Carl K. Chang 교수에게 전달했다.
