IDEA(Industrial Design Excellence Award).2008 에서 GOLD PRIZE 수상 / 박성우 (공업디자인학과 02)

IDEA는 미국산업디자이너협회(IDSA)와 비즈니스위크지가 공동 주관하는 세계적인 권위의 디자인공모전으로 1980년부터 시작되어 매년 개최되는 국제적인 디자인 행사로써 제품디자인, 친환경디자인, 산업디자인, 포장 디자인과 전략, 연구와 컨셉트에 관한 여러 분야에서 우수한 작품을 선정하여 포상하는 영향력 있는 디자인 공모전 이다.
이 디자인 공모전에서 공업디자인과 박성우 학생이 student desing competition부문에서 GOLD PRIZE을 수상하게 되었다.
박성우 학생은 2002년 국민대학교 공업디자인학과에 입학하여, 2002년부터 2005년까지 웹에이전시 Onestone Communications와 TopnWise에서 플래시 모션그래픽과 웹디자이너로 재직. 후에 플래시모션그래픽 프리랜서로 활동하다 2006년 삼성디자인멤버십에 들어가 제품디자이너로 활동하고 있다.
작품 설명
- Voice Stick은 시각장애인의 문자 인식을 위한 휴대용 텍스트 스캔 장치이다.
인쇄물을 전체적으로 훑으면 OCR(Optical Character Recognition)기능이 텍스트만을 인식하여 음성으로 낭독해준다.
휴대성 좋은 펜타입의 Voice Stick는 일반 도서뿐만아니라 간행물, 신문, 문서,엽서,계약서 등 일상 속 문자를 스캔하여 시각장애인들이 문자를 읽을 수 있게 해준다.
시각장애인들은 촉각으로만 정보를 인지하기 때문에 Voice Stick에는 시각적인 인지를 요하는 그래픽은 전혀 들어가 있지 않다.
각각의 버튼들에는 그 기능을 알 수 있는 점자들이 붙어있다.
