토목시설물 모형경진대회 대상 수상 / 건설시스템공학부

지난 2009년 3월 30일 제 12회 토목의 날을 맞이하여 국토해양부가 후원하고 대한토목학회가 주관하는 토목시설물 모형경진대회에서 본교 건설시스템공학부 김정숙(4학년), 류두현(4학년), 김민태(3학년), 정기호(3학년)학생 4명이 대상을 수상하였다.
이 대회는 서울대, 한양대등 국내 17개 대학 44개팀이 참가하여 자신들이 만든 토목 모형물을 가지고 다른 팀과 겨루었으며, 여기에서 본교 학생들이 모든 경쟁자들을 물리치고 당당히 대상을 차지하였다.
이 대회는 목재, 종이, 플라스틱, 스티로폼 등을 이용하여 길이 1.5m, 높이 50cm, 너비 50cm 이내의 모형물을 제작하는 것으로서, 유사모형물의 경우 제작에 들어간 자재량과 비용이 적을수록 좋은 점수를 받게 된다.
한편 본교 건설시스템 공학부는 2007년도에도 이 대회에서 은상을 수상하는 등 매년 좋은 성적을 보이고 있어 본교의 위상을 대외적으로 드높이는 데 크게 이바지 하고 있다.
또한 같은날에 본교 공과대학 학생회가 대한토목학회로부터 우수 학생회로 선정되어 대한주택공사 사장상을 수상하는 쾌거를 이루었다.
