TED 금속&주얼리디자인랩, 국제주얼리디자인공모전 수상

국민대학교 테크노디자인대학원(이하 TED) 금속&주얼리디자인랩 석사과정 2학기 장선주씨가 2010 국제주얼리디자인공모전(2010 International Jewelry Design Contest) 실물부문에서 동상을 수상했다. 이밖에 홍지영(박사), 남상원(박사), 이수현, 이영경, 정수연씨가 우수디자이너상을, 이진혁, 손따리씨가 특선을, 송연주, 김소희, 노기령, 유정애씨가 입선을 수상하는 등 TED 금속&주얼리디자인랩에서 다수의 수상자가 배출되었다.
장선주씨의 ‘사랑으로 크는 나무 The tree with love’ 는 은(silver)과 마노(agate), 루비 등을 재료로 ‘부모님의 사랑으로 성장해 가는 자신’을 표현한 작품이다. 장선주씨는 “큰상을 받아서 기쁘고 뿌듯하다.” 며 “학업과 공모전을 병행하면서 스케줄 관리하는 것이 가장 힘들었다. 그러나 값진 경험이었고, 앞으로 더 열심히 도전하겠다.” 고 소감을 밝혔다.
‘국제주얼리디자인공모전’은 (사)한국귀금속보석디자인협회와 한국무역협회가 공동 개최하는 국내 최대 규모의 주얼리디자인 공모전이며 올해로 9회를 맞은 공모전의 주제는 ‘기억의 순간(The moments to cherish)’이었다. 공모전 시상식은 2010년 4월 29일 개최되며 입상작은 ‘2010 국제보석시계전시회’ 기간 내 코엑스 전시실에서 전시될 예정이다. TED 금속&주얼리디자인 랩은 지난해 동일 공모전에서 금상을 수상하는 등 지속적인 수상소식을 들려주고 있다
