권여현 교수 세계인명사전 MARQUIS WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD 등재

미술학부 회화전공 권여현 교수가 세계 3대 인명사전 중 하나인 ‘마르퀴즈 후즈 후(MARQUIS WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD) 2011년판 (28th Edition)에 등재 확정되었다.
권여현 교수는 서울대학교 미술대학 회화과 및 동대학원 졸업한 후 1988년 첫 개인전을 시작으로 지금까지 30회의 개인전과 350여회의 단체전을 가졌다. 회화에서 사진, 조각, 설치 등 다양한 장르로 영역을 확장해 동서양 미술의 가능성을 폭넓게 실험하고 있는 것으로 평가받는 권여현 교수는 1984년 제 9회 창작미술협회 공모전 대상, 1986년 동아미술제 동아미술상, 1990년 제13회 중앙미술대전 우수상 1991년 제10회 석남미술상, 1995년 제1회 한국일보 청년작가전 우수상, 2005년 제5회 하종현 미술상을 수상하였다. 또한 학생들의 교육에도 열정을 가지고 있어 우수한 인재양성에 힘쓰고 있다.
100년이 넘은 역사와 정보의 정확성, 까다로운 인물선정 기준 등으로 유명한 마르퀴스 후즈 후 사전은 미국 인명정보기관, 영국 케임브리지 국제인명센터와 함께 세계 3대 인명사전으로 꼽힌다.
