국제쌍둥이연구학회 제20대 상임이사 선출 / 허윤미(교양대학) 특임교수

국민대학교(총장 정승렬) 허윤미 특임교수 (국민연구원)가 국제쌍둥이연구학회 (International Society for Twin Studies)의 제20대 상임이사로 선출되었다.
국제쌍둥이연구학회는 세계 28여개국의 쌍둥이 연구학자들이 회원으로 가입되어 있으며, 쌍둥이를 대상으로 하여 인간의 심리적 특성, 정신질환 및 신체질환에 미치는 유전과 환경의 영향을 연구하는 학회이다. 쌍둥이는 하나의 수정란이 두개로 분화되어 발생하는 일란성쌍둥이와 처음부터 두 개의 수정란에서 발생하는 이란성 쌍둥이로 나누어져 있다. 이러한 차이를 활용하여 연구할 경우, 쌍둥이들은 인간행동에 미치는 유전/환경 상호작용 현상에 대한 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있다.
국제쌍둥이연구학회가 최근에는 과학적 연구와 더불어 쌍둥이 가족에 대한 복지서비스로 연구 영역을 확대하는 추세이다. 학회는 Twin Research and Human Genetics (SCI등재)를 정기적으로 발간하고 있으며, 허윤미 교수는 이 학술지의 편집위원이기도 하다.
허윤미 교수는 2025년 개최된 학술대회 (Twins 2025)에서 세계 각국의 학자들이 참여한 회원투표로 상임이사에 선출되었으며 임기는 2025년 12월부터 2028년 12월까지 3년간이다.
