[학술]최형집 국민大 교수 세계적 인명사전 동시수록

국민대 기계자동차공학부 최형집(崔炯集·40) 교수가 미국과 영국에서 발간되는 세계적 권위의 인명록에 동시에 오르게 됐다.
국민대는 12일 최 교수가 그간의 연구업적을 인정받아 영국 국제인명센터(IBC)의 ‘21세기의 명사 2000인’과 미국 인명정보기관(ABI)의 ‘21세기를 빛낼 1000명의 위인’이라는 인명록에 수록된다고 밝혔다.
40여년의 역사를 가진 IBC와 ABI는 전세계 다양한 분야의 저명인사나 새롭게 떠오르는 인물들을 인명록에 실어왔다. 두 기관의 인명록은 올해 말과 내년 말에 각각 발행된다.
최 교수는 항공우주산업 등 첨단 분야에 널리 쓰이는 섬유강화복합재료등 특수재료에 생기는 결함에 대처하는 이론적 해석 모델을 만들어 유력국제학술지에 25편의 논문을 게재하는 등 활발한 연구활동을 해왔다. 최교수는 연세대 기계공학과와 대학원을 졸업하고 미국 버지니아 공대에서박사학위를 받은 뒤 한국전력기술㈜ 책임연구원과 계명대 교수를 거쳐 지난해부터 국민대 교수로 재직중이다.
