우리는 스스로를 성장시키기 위해 수 많은 도전을 하며 살아간다. 하지만, 자신있게 시작한 일이 내 마음처럼 풀리지 않을 때가 자주 있다. 처음 한 두번이야 '다시 시작하면 되지.' 라는 마음으로 털고 일어나지만 연속해서 몰아치는 고난과 시련 앞에서 우리는 그 자리에 주저 앉아 버린다. '내가 할 수 있을까?' , '이게 옳은 길일까?' 수 없이 많은 고민이 두 어깨를 눌러 도저히 다시 일어날 힘이 생기지 않는다. 그럴 때일수록 어깨를 더 당당히 피고 일어서자. 눈 앞에 있는 폭풍우를 지나게 되면 어느새 그 폭풍우는 우리의 값진 거름이 되어 있을 것이다.

우리는 종종 본인의 그림자가 버거워져 발걸음을 이어나가지 못하곤 한다.

우리가 눈치 채지 못한 사이 발 밑의 그림자는 스스로를 양식 삼아 비대해졌고, 마음을 잠식해왔기 때문이다.

하지만 이 위기에 굴하면 더 이상 아무것에도 도전할 수 없게 될 것이다. 그림자를 양지로 끌고 나가는 것에 도전해보는 건 어떨까. 양지에서도 그림자는 존재하겠지만 한층 작아진 그림자는 햇살 아래 우리의 존재를 증명해주고, 우리는 발걸음을 이어 나갈 수 있을 것이다.
