국민대, 직접 기른 배추로 김장·이웃사랑 실천

지난달 22일 국민대에서는 학생들과 교직원이 함께 정성들여 가꾼 배추와 무를 직접 뽑아 만드는 김장 행사가 열렸다. ‘녹색 캠퍼스 함께하기’ 수업의 일환으로 실시된 이번 김장은 학생들이 기른 배추 80포기에 전남 순천에서 구입한 1100포기를 합쳐 이뤄졌으며, 담은 김치는 성북구 내 저소득 가계 및 독거노인에게 전달됐다. 행사를 주관한 이창현 언론정보학과 교수는 “사실 우리가 먹는 음식 자체에 생명이 깃들어 있는데 요즘은 정크 푸드를 주로 먹다보니 이런 걸 잘 못 느끼는 것 같다”며 “이번 기회를 통해 학생들이 먹을거리의 소중함을 알았으면 좋겠다”고 말했다. 이번 행사에 참여한 변인수(건축 00)씨는 “배추를 나르는 것보다 버무리는 것이 더 어렵지만 재미있다”며 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.
