국민대 테크노 디자인 전문 대학원 금속·주얼리 디자인 전공에서는 3월 9일 본교 조형관 309호에서 주얼리 제조업체와 산학 협동 조인식을
가졌다.
본 조인식은 우리나라 주얼리 산업의 메카라고 볼 수 있는 종로구 봉익동에 소재하고 있는 장신구 제조업체 골드웨이브(대표
이명순), 미라클(대표 정학봉), 알라딘(대표 김권철)과 더불어 주얼리 디자인을 개발하기 위한 산학 협력 계약에 의한
것이다.
우리나라 주얼리 산업은 1970년대부터 종로 3가 일대를 중심으로 제조업과 도매업이 성장하기 시작하여
21세기 새로운 문화산업으로 기대가 모아지고 있다.세계에서 인정받는 우리나라 사람들의 손재주를 바탕으로 좋은 디자인을 개발한다면 고부가가치
산업으로 성장할 가능성이 많기 때문이다.
금속 주얼리 전공은 산학 협동 프로젝트를 대학원 수업과정으로 연계하여 산업체에서 기대하는
주얼리 디자이너를 교육시키고 또한 좀 더 바람직한 디자인을 연구 개발하고자 1999년도에 국민대 테크노 디자인 전문대학원
설립과 동시에 국내 최초로 대학원 과정으로 개설되었다.
