고인의 뜻, 학교에 꽃피기를

지난 2월에 별세한 故 東谷 박승오 교수님의 유족이 4월 25일 4천만 원의 장학기금을 학교 발전기금 창구에 기탁했다. 박 교수님께서는 15년 가까이 우리대학 경제학부 교수로 봉직하다 1993년에 정년퇴임하셨으며, 그간 경상대학장, 대학원장 등의 직책을 맡으셨다. 장학기금을 기탁한 사모님 한원순 여사에 의하면 고인은 “생전에 후학들을 위한 장학금을 조성하겠다”는 뜻을 지인들에게 자주 밝혔다고 한다. 이번 기부는 이러한 고인의 뜻을 조금이나마 이루고자 유족이 실천한 것으로 1억 원의 기금이 조성될 때까지 계속될 것이라 한다. 고인의 후배 교수인 장덕주 경상대학장에 의하면 경제학부 교수들도 고인의 유지를 받들어 기금마련에 동참할 것이라고 한다.
