쿠웨이트대학교(Kuwait University)와 교류협정 체결

국민대학교(총장 이성우)와 쿠웨이트대학교(총장 Abdullah Al-Fuhaid)는 5월 24일 국민대학교에서 교류협력을 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결하였다. 이 MOU를 통해 두 대학은 연구 및 교육 분야에 대한 협력, 심포지엄 등의 공동개최 그리고 교수, 연구원 및 학생 교환 등의 교류에 대한 사안에 합의하였으며, 구체적인 교류에 대한 사항은 추후 논의하기로 하였다.
본교 총장실에서 진행된 MOU 조인식에서는 이성우 총장과 쿠웨이트대학교 Abdullah Al-Fuhaid 총장이 양해각서에 서명을 하였으며, 장덕준 연구교류처장이 배석하였고, 조인식 후 UIT 디자인센터와 자동차전문대학원장(이운성 교수)의 안내로 자동차전문대학원의 실험실 등을 방문하였다.
1966년에 설립된 쿠웨이트대학교는 쿠웨이트 시티에 위치해 있으며 현재 대학평가에서 중동에 있는 대학 중 상위 5위 안에 꾸준히 들어가는 중동지역의 명문대학이다. 이번 MOU 체결은 한-아랍간 상호이해 증진 및 협력확대를 위해 개최되는 한-아랍 소사이어티(Korea-Arab Society, KAS) 국제회의 참석을 위해 쿠웨이트대학교 총장이 방한한 것을 계기로 이루어졌다.
