유지수 총장 사우디아라비아 고등교육부 초청으로 사우디 방문

유지수 총장은 2014년 4월 13일부터 18일까지 사우디아라비아 고등교육부(Ministry of Higher Education) 공식 초청으로 정승렬 대외교류처장, 김동억 교양대학 교수 등으로 구성된 본교 대표단을 이끌고 사우디아라비아 수도 리야드에서 개최된 제5회 국제고등교육박람회(The 5th International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education)에 참가하였다. 이번 박람회에는 한국 대학 13개교를 포함하여 전 세계 34개국 450개 대학이 참가하였으며, 나흘간 3만여 명의 방문객이 방문하였다.
유지수 총장은 해당 기간중 2010년 10월 본교에서 명예박사학위를 수여받은 Khalid Al Ankary 사우디 고등교육부장관을 비롯한 고등교육부 주요 인사와 King Abdulaziz 대학 총장, Al Yamamah 대학 총장, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic 대학 부총장 등 사우디 대학 주요 인사들과 만나 본교의 교육 역량 및 인프라를 소개하고, 다양한 형태의 교류협력 방안을 논의하였다.
이번 방문을 통해 향후 사우디 고등교육기관과의 교육 및 연구 협력 기회가 창출될 것으로 기대되며, 사우디 유학생 유치 역시 활성화될 것으로 예상된다.
