국민대, 남수단 주택부·남수단 주바대학교와 MOU 체결

국민대학교 공과대학 건설시스템공학부의 김현기 교수는 2013년 7월 초 2011년 분리독립된 남수단을 방문하여 주택부(Ministry of Housing and Physical Planning, the Republic of South Sudan, 2013.07.05)와 주바대학교(University of Juba, South Sudan, 2013.07.08)를 방문하여 MOU를 체결하였다.
남수단 주택부 MHPP의 Director General of Projects인 Louis Kwot Akolith를 만나 “남수단의 지진 발생 가능성 분석 및 지진재해 피해 저감을 위한 지진계측소 설치와 내진 설계 규정 제정”을 위해 논의하고 관련 내용으로 MOU를 체결하였으며,
남수단의 수도인 주바에 위치한 주바대학교 공과대학 학장인 James Janthana 교수와 동일한 내용으로 MOU를 체결하였다.
주바대학교 간의 MOU는 주바대학교가 남수단 분리독립 이후 주바로 이전한 이래로 처음 외국대학과 맺은 협약이라 의미가 더욱 깊다고 할 수 있다.
이번 MOU 체결에는 부경대학교의 강태섭 교수와 동명기술공단의 김동원 이사가 동석하였다.
