차세대 디자인 리더…세계가 인정한 무한대 상상력 / 안상균(금속공예90) 미 오번대교수

산업자원부와 디자인진흥원이 매일경제신문과 함께 제4기 '차세대 디자인 리더' 10 명을 선정했다.
◆ 안상균 美 오번대 교수 / 금속공예 90학번
"디자이너는 정치가나 과학자 못지않게 세상을 바꿀 수 있는 힘이 있다고 생각합 니다 ."
미국 오번대 조교수로 재직중인 안상균 씨(35)는 미래형 자전거 등 첨단 교통기구 디자인에서 실력을 인정받고 있다.
안씨는 미래지향적이고 날렵한 디자인으로 다양한 방식으로 탈 수 있는 교통기구를 디자인해 지난해 독일 '레드닷'의 컨셉트 디자인 분야에서 루미너리 어워드 대상을 수상해 주목받았다.
이 작품은 일견 조각작품을 연상시킬 정도로 디자인이 독특하 다.
국민대 금속공예학과 졸업 후 미국으로 건너가 2002년 일리노이대 산업디자인과를 졸업한 안씨는 미국 프로페인 디자인그룹에서 실무 경력을 쌓기도 했다.
안씨는 올 해 애틀랜타 디자인뮤지엄에서 개인전을 여는 것은 물론이고 IF와 레드닷 등 국제 공모전에 참가할 계획이다.
