한국은행 강원본부장에 춘천출신 이철수(정치외교학과) 동문 임명

이철수(54) 한국은행 강원본부장은 “지난 2년 동안 강원본부 근무 경력을 밑거름 삼아 직원들과 함께 강원도 경제발전과 활성화에 도움이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 다짐했다. 한국은행이 2급 지역본부 부장을 지역본부장으로 임명한 것은 이번 인사가 처음이다. 이에 대해 한국은행 내부에서는 “지역본부라고 하더라도 지역경제에 대한 기여도가 높거나 그 가능성이 인정되면 본부장으로 임명된다는 점을 강조, 향후 인사의 방향을 열어둔 것”아라고 해석했다. 이 본부장은 평소 지역과 다양하게 소통하며 강원지역발전에 깊은 관심을 가져왔으며 내적으로는 후배들을 따듯하게 대해주는 ‘덕장(德將)’ 형 인사로 평가받아 왔다. 철원 출신으로 춘천고와 국민대를 졸업하고 연세대 대학원에서 석사학위를 받은 이 본부장은 총무국 조사역, 총무국 과장·조달관리팀장, 강원본부 기획조사부장 겸 부본부장을 역임했다.
