배규한(사회학과) 교수, 한국연구재단 초대 사무총장 내정

배규한 현 학술진흥재단 사무총장이 오는 26일 출범예정인 한국연구재단 초대 사무총장으로 내정됐다. 연구재단 초대 감사는 교육과학기술부 고위공무원 출신의 최건모씨가 내정됐다.
배규한 사무총장 내정자는 서울대 사회학과를 졸업하고 1985년부터 국민대에서 교수로 재직해왔다. 대통령 직속 미래기획위원회 위원, 한국청소년정책연구원장 등의 활동을 했다. 연구재단 사무총장은 이사장 명에 따라 재단 사업 및 경영을 총괄하는 직위다.
감사로 내정된 최건모씨는 1979년부터 과학기술부 사무관을 시작으로 주EU대표부 과학관, 과학기술부 공보관, 원자력안전심의관, 아태원자력협력협정사무국장 등을 역임했다. 최 내정자는 26일 재단출범과 함께 2년 임기가 시작되며, 선진국 수준의 경영 투명성 제고와 연구윤리 문화 확산을 위한 감사 시스템 구축 등의 임무를 수행한다.
한국연구재단은 한국과학재단·한국학술진흥재단·국제과학기술협력재단 등 교육과학기술부 산하 3개 재단을 통합해 설립하는 우리나라 최대 연구관리전문기관이다. 올해 기준으로 약 2조7000억원의 연구개발 사업을 관리한다.
