성문희(생명나노화학) 교수, 과학기술우수논문상 수상

자연과학대학 생명나노화학과 성문희 교수가 지난 7일 인천 송도 컨벤시아에서 열린 제 19회 과학기술우수논문상 시상식에서 과학기술우수논문상을 수상했다.
1991년부터 시작해 19회째를 맞은 대한민국과학기술연차대회 과학기술우수논문상 시상식은 국내학술지에 발표된 논문을 대상으로 소속학회에서 심사를 거쳐 추천된 논문을 분야별 심사하여 과학기술우수논문으로 선정하고 있다. 이번 대한민국과학기술연차대회는 교육과학기술부 주최로, 한국과학기술단체총연합회(KOFST)가 주관하였다.
성문희교수는 국가지정연구실사업(NRL Project)를 통해 지금까지 알려진 미생물 배양기술로는 배양할 수 없는 세계적으로도 희귀 미생물인 공생미생물의 배양기술 연구를 주제로, 세계 최초로 심비오박테리움을 한국 토양에서 분리한 연구내용을 게재한 논문 (제목: Characterization of Growth-supporting Factors Produced by Geobacillus toebii for the Commensal Thermophile Symbiobacterium toebii)으로 과학기술우수논문상을 수상하는 영광을 갖게 되었다. 이번 수상 논문으로, 새로운 희귀미생물의 탐색 및 분리연구에 있어 학문적인 중요성이 인정되었을 뿐만 아니라, 신규 바이오자원을 확보함으로써 산업적인 효용가치도 높이 평가되고 있다.
