SW 연구개발 동아리 지원 ‘삼성소프트웨어 Friendship’ 우수동아리 선정/ 전자공학부 ELCO팀

2012년 삼성전자는 21주년을 맞은 ‘삼성 소프트웨어 멤버십’강화 일환으로 대학 내 SW 연구개발 우수 동아를 지원하는 ‘삼성소프트웨어 Friendship’을 시작했다. 그동안 삼성소프트웨어멤버십이 개인 개발자 지원이었다면 삼성소프트웨어 Friendship은 대학 내 자발적인 SW 연구개발 분위기 조성이 목적으로, 이를 통해 국내 SW산업 발전과 대학생 개발자 역량을 높이는 데 기여하는 것에 목적이 있다.
Friendship은 국내 정규 4년제 대학(원) 학생으로 구성된 SW 연구개발에 열정 있는 동아리나 학회, 소모임 등이 참여할 수 있으며, 2012년 전국 대학교를 대상으로 20개 Friendship 1기 동아리를 선정하였고 1년간 지원을 해주었다. Friendship으로 선정된 동아리는 SW 관련 도서와 기자재 지원은 물론이고 Friendship 동아리간 기술 교류의 장에서 교류를 나눌 수 있다.
2012년 1기 Friendship 모집에서 전자공학부 소모임인 ELCO가 Friendship 동아리로 선정되었고, 1년간의 활동을 토대로 후배양성 프로그램과 기술력을 인정받아 지난 2월 25일에 열린 최종성과발표회에서 우수동아리로 선정되었다.
ELCO는 전자공학부 내 학술소모임으로써, 1987년에 만들어졌으며 Software, Hardware의 개발 및 연구를 주목적으로 하고 있다. 연구 분야로는 AVR, ARM등의 Embedded Hardware와 Linux, Window Programming, Android등이 있다. 매년 신입생을 대상으로 C 및 AVR교육을 진행하고 있으며 동아리 자체적으로 전시회를 진행하고 있다. 또한 여러 대회에 참가하여 입상함으로써 그 기술력을 인정받고 있다.
