독일 Richard-Bampi-Preis 공모전 1등 / 강기호 (도자공예학과 99) 동문

강기호 (조형대학 도자공예학과 99) 동문이 독일 Richard-Bampi-Preis 공모전에서 영예의 1등을 수상하였다.
올해로 14회를 맞는 Richard-Bampi-Preis (리차드 밤피) 공모전은 1969년에 처음 개최되어 3년에서 5년을 주기로 열리고 있으며, 도자와 관련된 가장 오래된 공모전이다. Richard Bampi(1896-1965)의 재단 후원으로 이어지고 있으며 매회 2명 혹은 3명의 수상자를 배출하고 있다. 이번 공모전에서는 강기호 동문과 Anna Dorothea Klug이 공동 1등 수상을 하였고 3등으로는 Nina Viktoria Naussed가 수상하였다.
강기호 동문의 작품은 "Verhaeltnis zwischen Volumen und Zwischenraum" (용적과 사이공간의 관계")로 5개의 연작 시리즈 작업이다. 두 물체 사이의 숨은 공간을 찾아내어 도자라는 재료로 추상공간개념을 시각적으로 형상화하고 재구성하는 작업으로 사이공간에 부피와 의미를 부여하여 절제된 형으로 환원되고 그 오브제들의 구성이 다시 주위공간과 어울려 또 다른 사이공간이 형성되는 순환과정을 모티브로 하고 정적인 공간연출로 관람자와 작가간의 내면의 공감을 이끌고자하는 작업이다. 모든 작업은 코일성형방식으로 작업했고 조합토에 다양한 산화물을 섞어 무채색 계열의 흙과 때때로 유약을 사용하였다.
이번 공모전 작품 전시는 라이프치히에 있는 Grassi 뮤지엄에서 2013년 11월 17일부터 2014년 3월 23일까지 열린다.
