제49대 인천강화경찰서장에 경기제2청 경무과장을 지낸 조용태 총경이 21일 부임한다.
조용태 신임 서장은 간부후보 31기로 국민대 행정과를 졸업했으며, 1983년 경위로 경찰생활을 시작한 이래 2004년 6월 총경으로 승진해 강원 횡성경찰서장, 충북 제천경찰서장, 본청 수사인권보호센터장, 서울 강동경찰서장, 본청 감사담당관, 대전중부경찰서장, 경기경찰청 제2청 경무과장을 지냈다.
경찰 행정 전반에 밝고 원만한 대인관계로 폭넓은 인맥을 지닌 것으로 알려졌다.
