캠브리지-국민대 공동연구/김채원(신소재공학부) 박사과정

김채원 박사과정 학생은 본교 신소재 공학부를 2005년에 입학하여, 2014년 이미정 교수의 지도 아래 석사과정을 마쳤으며, 같은 해 이미정 교수의 지도 아래 박사과정을 시작하였다. 김채원 박사과정 학생은 석사과정부터 유기 반도체 분야에 대해서 연구해 오고 있으며, 용액 공정을 이용한 반도체 공정 개발, 단분자 유기 반도체 TFT 소자에 대한 연구를 주로 진행해왔다.
이번에 진행되는 캠브리지 대학과 공동 연구는 삼성전자로부터 연간 1억원의 지원을 받아 진행되고 있으며, 공동연구의 일환으로 신소재공학부 김채원 박사과정 학생은 캠브리지 대학 Cavendish laboratory (카벤디시 연구소 http://www.phy.cam.ac.uk/)의 Henning Sirringhaus교수가 지도하는 optoelectronics group에 지난 3월부터 영국 캠브리지 대학교에 파견되어 유기 반도체 원리에 대해 공동 연구를 진행하고 있다. 카벤디시 연구소는 영국 캠브리지대학교 물리학과에 있는 연구소로, 1874년 창설된 현대물리의 기반이 다져진 곳으로 Sir J.J. Thomson, Ernest Rutherford, Sir Neville Mott등 단일 대학으로는 가장 많은 노벨상 수상자(29 명) 를 배출한 세계적 연구소이다.
카벤디시 연구소는 영국 캠브리지대학교 물리학과에 있는 연구소로, 1874년 창설된 현대물리의 기반이 다져진 곳으로 Sir J.J. Thomson, Ernest Rutherford, Sir Neville Mott등 단일 대학으로는 가장 많은 노벨상 수상자(29 명) 를 배출한 세계적 연구소이다.
