‘2014 대구사진비엔날레’ 부대행사의 일환으로 두 개의 개인 사진전이 마련된다. 서영철 사진전은 10월 3일부터, 정명환 사진전은 10월 4일부터 각각 10일간 열린다.
일부만 보면 잘보이는 불완전성
▷ 서영철 사진전(10월 3~12일)
10월 3일(금)부터 12일(일)까지 갤러리공산에서 열린다. 서 작가는 피사체의 온전한 모습 대신 일부분만을 카메라 앵글에 담는 작업을 하고 있다. 그의 작품에 등장하는 사람, 건물, 풍경은 모두 일정 부분이 잘려 나간 형태로, 이는 불완전한 존재의 의미를 각인시키는 행위다. 작가는 일부분만을 강조해 보여줌으로써 인간과 사물이 가진 불완전성을 드러낸다. 한편 서 작가는 국민대 디자인대학원에서 사진영상을 전공했으며 2009년 갤러리룩스 신진작가에 선정됐다.
