독일 남부바이에른 응용미술 공모전 특별상 수상 / 정준원(대학원 금속공예학과 04)

대학원 금속공예학과 정준원 동문이 독일 남부바이에른 응용미술 공모전에서 특별상(Anerkennungspreis)을 수상했다.
현재 뮌헨미술아카데미에서 장신구를 전공하고 있는 정준원 동문은, ‘용기와 장신구’라는 주제로 변주된 3작품(초경석고를 이용한 brooch and brick, 그리고 아연을 재료로 사용한 pin and box와 brooch라는 제목의 작품)을 출품하였으며, 그의 작품은 장신구가 포함된 추상조각으로, 장신구를 품은 작고 가장 신성한 제단처럼 보인다는 심사평을 받았다.
또한 정준원 동문의 작품은 Neringa Vasiliauskaite(유리), Jonas Eiling(가구), Martin Papcún(장신구) 등 본상 작품과 함께 목공예 분야의 출품작들이 뛰어난 예술적 완성도를 보여주었다 평을 받았다.
이번 공모전에는 남부바이에른 지역에 위치한 대학, 아카데미 및 고등교육기관에서 수학한 58명의 젊은 작가들의 141점의 작품이 출품되었으며, 본상 및 특별상을 수상자들을 포함한 17명의 작가를 선정, 29점의 작품들을 시상식과 함께 District Upper Bavaria 갤러리에서 전시해 작품을 소개했다.
독일 바이에른 주 “District Upper Bavaria”는 2010년부터 응용미술분야인 장신구, 기물, 도자, 나무, 섬유, 종이, 금속, 석재, 합성수지 등의 세부 영역의 젊은 지역 작가들의 활동을 장려하기 위하여 매년 공모전을 통해 시상하고 있다.
