문화재청(청장 나선화)은 1일 서울 국립고궁박물관에서 임기 2년의 문화재위원 78명과 문화재전문위원 177명을 새롭게 위촉하고 8개 분과별 위원장단을 선출했다. 문화재위원회는국내 문화재 관련 주요 안건을 조사·심의하는 문화재청의 비상근 자문기구다.
건축문화재, 동산문화재, 사적, 천연기념물, 매장문화재, 근대문화재, 민속문화재, 세계유산 등 8개 분과로 구성되어 있다. 이번에 새롭게 임명된 문화재위원들은 앞으로 국가지정문화재의 지정·해제, 문화재 현상변경, 역사문화환경 보호, 매장문화재 발굴, 세계유산 등재 등 문화재 관련 주요 안건을 조사·심의하게 된다. 이번에 위촉된 문화재위원들 중 절반은 연임이 아닌 처음 위촉된 신임 위원들이다.
전체 78명 중 44명(57%)을 신임 위원들로 채웠다. 다만 문화재전문위원 역할을 활성화하고 전문성이 강화될 수 있도록 전문위원을 맡았던 경력이 있는 인사(36명)가 우선적으로 위촉됐다. 문화재청 관계자는 "균형적 시각을 위해 특정 대학·지역에 편중되지 않도록 안배했다"고 설명했다.
제28대 문화재위원회 위원장과 부위원장, 각 분과위원장의 명단은 다음과 같다. △위원장 신승운 한국고전번역원장 △부위원장 이배용 이화여자대 명예교수 △부위원장 박강철 조선대 명예교수 △건축문화재분과위원장 김봉렬 한국예술종합학교 총장 △동산문화재분과위원장 신승운 한국고전번역원장 △사적분과위원장 이재범 전 경기대 교수 △천연기념물분과위원장 전영우 국민대 명예교수 △매장문화재분과위원장 이청규 영남대 교수 △근대문화재분과위원장 윤인석 성균관대 교수 △민속문화재분과위원장 박강철 조선대 명예교수 △세계유산분과위원장 이배용 이화여자대 명예교수
