2017년도 한국분자세포생물학회 초파리분과 우수발표상 / 씨타 퍼우델(대학원 바이오발효융합학과 14)

국민대학교 바이오발효융합학과 Seeta Poudel(석박사통합과정 14, 지도교수 이영석) 학생이 2017년 한국분자세포생물학회 초파리분과(2017년 6월 26~27, 무창포 비체펠리스 개최)에서 학생 포스터 우수발표상을 수상하였다.
Seeta Poudel 학생은 “Impairment of taste memory and sugar sensitivity in neurodegenerative fly model”을 주제로 파킨슨씨 질병 모델에서 당에 대한 민감성에 대해 연구를 수행했다. 연구 결과로써 DJ-1 유전자의 결핍이 당의 맛에 대한 민감도를 행동학적으로 떨어트리며, 전기생리학적인 방법으로도 이를 검증하였다. 또한, 파킨슨씨 병을 유발했을 때, 치매가 발생하여 기억력에도 이상이 생길 수 있다는 결과를 발표하였다. 이러한 결과는, 고령화사회로 접어들어 늘어가고 있는 실버세대에서 파킨슨씨 질병으로 고통받는 환자들을 치료하는데 중요한 기초자료를 제공하였다 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 BK21 플러스 사업과 교육부 일반연구자지원사업의 지원을 받아 수행되었다.
