국민대학교 검도부, 전국학생 검도대회 우승 … 2연패!

국민대학교 체육대학 검도부가 지난 13일에서 15일까지, 3일간 대구광역시 실내체육관에서 개최된 ‘문화체육관광부장관배 제47회 전국학생검도대회’에서 전국대학의 강호들을 제치고 우승을 차지했다. 이번 대회는 전국 16개 대학교가 출전하였으며 예선전부터 결승까지 용인대, 경운대, 목포대, 성균관대를 차례로 꺾으며 정상에 올랐다. 특히 결승에서 라이벌 학교이자 ‘검도 강자’로 널리 알려진 성균관대를 상대로 3대0 완승을 거두고 작년에 이어 2년 연속 우승을 달성했기에 더욱 값진 결과다.
또, 지난 7월 27일부터 29일까지 충북 청주실내체육관에서 열린 회장기 제58회 전국검도단별선수권대회에서 김관수 선수(스포츠산업레저 1년)가 2단부에서 우승을 차지하였고, 김대회 선수(스포츠산업레저 4년)가 3단부 3위를 하여 어느덧 대학 검도의 강자로 자리매김 한 국민대 검도부의 위상을 여실히 증명하였다.
문무겸전을 모토로 하며 대학운동부의 모범을 보이고 있는 검도부는 그동안 소수정예로 대회에 출전하여 많은 입상을 해 왔다. 이번 대회 2연패 뿐만 아니라, 금년에 춘계대학연맹전에도 우승을 하여 2관왕을 차지하며 국민대학교의 명예를 전국적으로 드높이는데 많은 기여를 하고 있다.
