신산업 주파수 분야 기여, 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창 / 장병준(전자공학부) 교수

국민대학교 전자공학부 장병준교수가 2019년 12월에 비면허, 신산업 주파수 분야에 기여한 공로가 인정되어 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창을 수상하였다. 장병준 교수는 이미 2008년에 방송통신위원회 위원장 표장, 2013년에는 미래창조과학부 장관 표창을 수상한 바 있다.
장관 표창의 경우 한번 정부포상을 받고 난 후 3년 이상 해당 분야에서 새로운 공적을 쌓아야 하므로 3번 장관 표창을 받는 것은 지속적으로 그 능력을 인정받은 것이다.
장병준 교수는 무선 및 전파분야에서 많은 논문 및 국내외 등록 하는 등 탁월한 연구업적을 이루었으며, 국민대에서 최초로 2009년 대학ICT연구센터(ITRC)를 유치하여 6년간 ITRC 사업을 수행하면서 전파분야 신산업 및 응용분야를 새롭게 개척하였고, 이를 통하여 우수한 인재 양성, 다양한 학문의 융합을 통하여 세계적인 연구업적을 이루어 산업적, 학문적으로 선도적인 역할을 수행하여 왔다.
장병준 교수는 현재 삼성미래기술육성센터 사업을 유치하여 5G 빔포밍 기술개발 및 관련 분야 산업를 활성화 하는데 기여하고 있다.
