BKV Prize for Young Applied Arts 2020 입선 / 배준민, 최혜영(금속공예학과 04), 김희앙(금속공예학과 07) 동문

독일 바이에른주 뮌헨에 소재한 BKV(바이에른 공예미술협회)는 1851년에 설립되어 160년의 역사를 지니고 있다. 이 협회는 동시대의 공예품을 소개하는 일에 주력하고 있으며, 예술과 공예 관련 포럼을 개최하거나 갤러리를 통해 공예를 대중에게 알리는 역할도 함께 하고 있다. 약 400여명의 작가를 회원으로 두고 있으며 각종 국제 박람회에도 참가하고 있다.
BKV 공모전은 2006년부터 시작되어 만35세 이하의 신진작가들을 대상으로 일 년에 한 번씩 열리며 올해 14주년을 맞이하여 전 세계 24개국에서 102명의 작가가 지원하였다. 1차 사진심사와 2차 실물심사를 통해 작품의 독창성과 공예적 기술의 완성도를 기준으로 총 13명의 입선자와 1, 2, 3등 각 1명, 가작 2명의 수상자가 결정되었다.
이번 공모전에서 국민대학교 금속공예학과 동문인 배준민(학부‘04/대학원‘09), 최혜영(학부‘04/대학원‘17), 김희앙(학부‘07/대학원‘12) 3명이 파이널리스트에 선정되었다. 수상작은 2020년 5월 2일부터 23일까지 독일 뮌헨 Gallery for Applide Arts에서 전시되었다.
2012 강미나(대학원‘10) 1등상/ 2013년 권슬기(학부‘02/대학원‘07) 3등상/ 2015년 이예지(대학원‘10) 3등상/ 2018년 윤지예(학부‘07/대학원‘12) 3등상 외 그 동안 다수의 동문들이 파이널리스트에 이름을 올린 바 있다.
