영국왕립아시아학회 석학회원으로 선정 / 데이비드 윌리엄 김(교양대학) 교수

교양대학 데이비드 윌리엄 김(David William Kim)교수의 지난 20년간 아시아역사(Asian History)와 문화(Culture) 연구활동이 관련분야 학자들로 그 학문적 성과를 인정받아 이번에 세계적인 인문학메카이고 200년 전통(since 1823)의 대영제국 왕립아시아학회 (The Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland) 석학회원 (FRAS)으로 선정되어 앞으로 새로운 학설(Theory)과 가설(Hypothesis)정립의 중요한 연구자로 활동하게 되었다.

The Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland (RAS) was founded by the eminent Sanskrit scholar, Henry Thomas Colebrooke, on the 15th March 1823. It received its Royal Charter from King George IV on the 11th August 1824 ‘for the investigation of subjects connected with and for the encouragement of science, literature and the arts in relation to Asia.’ Many distinguished scholars have been members of the Society, including Sir Richard Burton (1821-90), the noted explorer and translator of One Thousand and One Nights and the Kama Sutra; Sir Aurel Stein (1862-1943), the renowned archaeologist of the ‘Silk Road’ and Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), the famous Bengali writer and poet.
