도쿄올림픽 진행 관련 인터뷰 진행 (SBS 모닝와이드) / 이동기(법학부) 교수

2021 년 5월13일 SBS 모닝와이드에서는 우리 학교 법과대학 이동기 교수의 인터뷰가 방송되었다.
코로나19의 확산세가 심각해지는 일본 도쿄에서는 작년 개최 예정이었다가 한해 연기된 올림픽 취소 여부가 재점화된 상황이다.
그럼에도 불구하고 일본 정부와 도쿄도가 올림픽을 취소하지 못하는 본질적인 이유에 대해서, 이동기 교수는 IOC와 도쿄올림픽조직위원회, 도쿄도 등이 체결한 ‘개최도시계약서(Host City Contract)’에 담긴 구체적 조항들을 근거로 들면서, 일본 정부나 도쿄도가 독자적으로 판단하기 어려운 사정이 있다는 점과 함께 올림픽 관련 마케팅, 손해배상의 문제 등을 올림픽 취소에 따른 법적인 쟁점들을 분석해주었다.
한편 이동기 교수는 한국도핑방지위원회 자문위원, 2024 강원청소년올림픽 고문변호사로, 스포츠 법과 정책, 올림픽 마케팅 규제 분야에서 활발하게 활동하고 있다.
