2021년 대한민국학술원 우수학술도서 선정 / 은종학(중국정경전공) 교수

은종학 교수(중국정경전공)의 저서 『중국과 혁신: 맥락과 구조, 이론과 정책 함의』가 2021년 대한민국학술원 우수학술도서(사회과학 부문)로 선정됐다. 총 17개의 장(544페이지)으로 구성된 이 책에서 은 교수는 ‘중국학’과 ‘혁신학’을 교차시키며 현대 중국에 축적된 역량과 한계를 파헤친다. 개혁개방 이후 성장에 몰두했던 중국이 왜 혁신에 눈을 돌렸고 21세기 들어 그를 어떻게 추구해왔는지를 다각도로 조명한다. 국내 일반에 잘 알려지지 않은 1백 여 중국 기업들을 등장시켜, 성장의 사다리를 오른 그들의 성공과 실패 스토리를 들려준다. 그를 통해 중국의 특성을 들추어내는 한편, 중국이 세계 그리고 기존의 정치경제학 및 혁신학 이론계에 던지는 도전이 무엇인지도 짚어본다. 현대 중국을 바로보기 위해 냉정함을 유지한 학술서이나, 말미에는 싱가포르의 사례를 소개하며 한국이 가야 할 길도 제시한다.
