문화예술발전 유공 서훈 '오늘의 젊은 예술가상(문화체육관광부 장관상)' 수상 / 김동현(금속공예학과 97) 동문

우리 대학 김동현(금속공예학과 학사97, 석사04, 박사17) 동문이 문화예술발전 유공 서훈 '오늘의 젊은 예술가상'(문화체육관광부 장관상)을 수상하였다.
김동현 작가는 2013년 독일 국제수공예박람회IHM)를 비롯해 공예디자인문화 진흥원이 주관하는 2019년 공예트렌드페어에서 우수작가상을 수상하는 등 국내외에서 활발하게 활동하며 한국 공예의 위상을 높였다는 평가를 받았다. 올해 5월 한미정상회담을 통해 문재인 대통령이 미국 알링턴 국립묘지에 기증한 '무명용사와 그들의 고귀한 희생을 기리는 기념패'를 제작해 주목받기도 했다.
문화체육관광부는 10월 22일 국립극장 ‘2021년 문화예술 발전 유공자’로 문화훈장 17명을 비롯해 ‘대한민국 문화예술상’(대통령 표창) 5명, ‘오늘의 젊은 예술가상’(문체부 장관 표창) 8명 등 총 35명을 선정해 시상하였다.
