2021 KSAE 대학생 자작차 경진대회 Formula 부문 금상 수상 / KUST 팀

우리 대학 태양광 자동차 동아리 KUST(지도교수 정재일)가 직접 제작한 E-Formula 차량을 이용하여 지난 12월 3~5일 한국자동차공학회에서 주관하고 새만금 군산자동차경주장에서 열린 “2021 KSAE 대학생 자작차 경진대회” Formula 부문에서 금상을 수상하는 쾌거를 이루어냈다. 전기 Formula 부문에서는 1위에 해 당하는 결과다.
KSAE 대회는 대학생들이 자체 제작한 자동차를 Formula 부문, Baja부문으로 나누어 경쟁을 하는 대회다. Formula 부문에선 가속, 스키드패드, 짐카나, 내구레이스로 구성된 4가지 부문으로 심사가 이뤄진다.
KUST팀은 코로나19로 인한 사회적 거리두기 시행으로 인하여 대회가 4개월 연기되었음에도 학생들의 열정과 노력, 차량제작을 지원해준 한국 Altair, Bender등 후원사들과 함께 매년 꾸준히 발전된 고출력의 배터리 기술 및 섀시 성능을 바탕으로 고성능의 전기 포뮬러를 제작하여 참가하였다.
KUST팀은 이번 대회에서 우수한 주행 퍼포먼스로 가속, 스키드 패드, 짐카나, 내구레이스를 모두 완주하였고, Formula 부문 금상을 수상하게 되었다.
