한국은행 지식교류프로그램(BOK-KPP) 스리랑카 정책자문 참여 / 김현학, 이명종(경제학과) 교수

우리 대학 경제학과 김현학, 이명종 교수가 지난 7월 26(화)부터 29일(금)까지 한국은행 지식교류프로그램(BOK-KPP) 스리랑카 정책자문으로 스리랑카 현지 실태조사에 참여했다.
이번 조사는 사업 착수를 위한 협정 체결, 고위정책대화, 세부 연구계획 발표 및 정보 수집, 유관기관 방문 및 관계자 면담 등을 위해 진행됐다.
우리 대학 교수들은 7월 27일 Weeransinghe 스리랑카 중앙은행 총재를 만나 연구진들의 경력에 대한 소개와 더불어, 스리랑카 중앙은행 관련 부서 고위급 면담을 통해 한국이 1997년 외환정보시스템 FEIS를 출범하는 상황을 비교하여 현재 ITRS가 개선해야 할 점 등에 대해 논의했다. 김현학 교수는 한국이 1997년에 스리랑카의 현재 상황과 비슷한 외환위기를 겪었던 만큼 당시에 추진하여 정책을 리뷰하고, 정책에 실제 경제에 미쳤던 효과에 대해서 설명하였다. 나아가 이들 중 스리랑카에 적용가능한 조치들에 대하여 연구할 것임을 제시했다.
그 외에도 스리랑카 시중은행 외환 담당자와의 면담 및 주스리랑카 정운진 대사를 만나기도 했다. 본 사업은 작년에 이어 올해 2년 연속으로 진행하고 있다.
