전주국제영화제 한국단편경쟁부문 대상 수상 / 공선정(영상디자인학과 15) 동문

국민대학교(총장 정승렬) 영상디자인학과 공선정 동문이 지난 5월 1일(수)부터 10알(금)까지 열린 제25회 전주국제영화제 한국단편경쟁 부문에서 대상을 수상했다.
전주국제영화제는 부산국제영화제 · 부천국제영화제와 더불어 대한민국을 대표하는 3대 국제영화제 중 하나로서, 특히 한국단편경쟁 부문은 타 영화제 혹은 매체를 통해 소개되지 않은 월드프리미어 작품만을 상영하는 미래 한국 영화를 이끌어나갈 예비 감독의 등용문과 같은 분야로 널리 알려져있다.
이번 전주국제영화제 한국단편경쟁 부문에는 역대 최다 편수인 1,332편의 단편영화가 출품되었다. 공선정 동문은 직접 제작한 본인의 연출작 <작별(Farewell, 2023, 극영화, 26분)>을 출품하여 총 25편의 선정작에 당당히 이름을 올렸으며, 영화제 기간 내 진행된 심사를 통해 최고작에게 주어지는 대상의 영예를 안았다. 특히 이 작품의 주요 스텝들이 국민대학교 영상디자인학과 동문들로 구성되어 있어 그 의미가 크다.
공선정 동문은 “죽음 혹은 상처와 같은 민감한 가치에 대해 이야기하는 것이 매우 조심스럽지만, 현실에서 굳이 언급되지 않은 것들을 꿋꿋하게 영화로 재현하는 작업을 지속해 나가고 싶다”고 밝혔다.
