신임 국립중앙박물관장 임명 / 김재홍(한국역사학과) 교수

우리 대학 한국역사학과 김재홍 교수가 신임 국립중앙박물관장으로 임명됐다.
국립중앙박물관과 13개 소속 박물관을 총괄하게 된 김재홍 교수는 30여년간 한국 역사를 연구한 전문가다. 삼국시대 생활 유적과 농업사를 비롯해 무덤, 목간(木簡·글을 적은 나뭇조각), 철기 생산 분야를 연구해왔다.
1965년 경북 영천에서 태어나 서울대 국사학과를 졸업하고 같은 대학 대학원에서 석·박사 학위를 받았다. 1993년 학예연구직으로 국립중앙박물관 업무를 시작해 약 20년간 행정경험을 쌓았다. 2012년에는 국립춘천박물관장을 역임했다.
이후 우리 대학 국사학과(현재 글로벌인문·지역대학 한국역사학과) 교수로 자리를 옮겼고 한국학연구소장, 명원박물관 관장을 맡기도 했다. 한국상고사학회장, 국립인천해양박물관 설립위원, 국가유산청 문화유산위원회 위원 등으로 활동했다.
