유네스코(UNESCO) 세계무형문화유산 한국대표단 지명선발 / 데이비드 윌리엄 김(교양대학) 교수

국가유산청 세계문화유산 전문위원이며 영국 왕립역사학회(The Royal Historical Society, UK) 석학회원으로 활동하고 있는 교양대학 데이비드 윌리엄 김(David William Kim)교수는 유엔(UN)기구인 유네스코(UNESCO) 산하에 유형문화유산, 무형문화유산, 기록문화유산 가운데 2년만에 있었던 2024 World Intangible Cultural Heritage Paraguay국제회의에 유네스코 한국위원회 (Korea Commission)의 대표단(the Representative of the Official Observers) 2명 중에 한명으로 선발되어 국제협약및 외교전략 정밀분석관으로 국가유산청장, 프랑스본부 유네스코 한국대사, Paraguay 한국대사를 지원하는 미션을 수행하였다.
그 결과 고대로부터 무형전통적으로 내려온 “한국의 장 담그기” 문화를 조선왕조 종묘제례악, 아리랑, 전통탈춤 다음으로 22번째 세계문화유산으로 공식 등재확정을 하게 되었다. 더불어, 동아시아 이웃국가 중 중국은 음력설(Chinese New Year)을 몽골은 유목생활문화(Nomadic Culture)를 북한은 한복(Korean Traditional Dress)을 일본은 전통주인 사케(Sake)를 세계무형문화유산 등재를 미래지정학적 적략으로 진단하였다. 한국은 향후 2026년 우리의 “전통한지문화”를 국가등재 항목으로 지정하여 그 국제절차를 한국문화진흥원과 유네스코 아시아태평양 연구원이 준비할 계획이다. 아래는 남미 파라과이 대통령이 중요 국가행사로 친히 주관한 2024 UNESCO International Convention의 주요 협약현장 모습을 간략하게 소개하고 있다.
