4차 산업혁명 선도… 데이터사이언스·지능로봇학과 눈길

사회가 빠르게 변화하면서 대학들이 매년 트랜드에 맞는 새로운 학과를 선보이고 있다. 사회가 요구하는 인재상에 걸맞은 교육을 통해 연구 저변을 확장하고 취업률을 높이기 위한 전략인 것이다. 이와 함께 뛰어난 신입생을 유치하기 위해 장학금 등의 지원을 제공하는 대학도 있다. 정시모집을 앞두고 학과 선택을 하지 못해 망설이는 수험생이 있다면 주목할 만한 대학별 신설학과·특성화학과를 눈여겨보자.
◇미래 수요 예측해 만든 신설학과
국민대 역시 '소프트웨어를 가장 잘 가르치는 대학이 되겠다'는 목표 아래 대대적인 변화를 예고했다. 먼저 국민대는 컴퓨터공학부를 단과대학인 소프트웨어융합대학으로 승격시키고, 과학기술대학에 정보보안암호수학과를 신설했다. 과학기술대학의 정보보안수학과는 사이버 환경 변화에 따른 정보 보안 문제 등을 다룰 전문가를 양성한다. 사물인터넷(IoT) 등 정보보안이 중요한 분야가 발전할수록 수학, 암호, 컴퓨터 구조와 운영체제, 전자공학, 보안 등에 대한 통합적이고 전문적인 융합교육이 요구된다는 판단 아래 만들어졌다. 정보보안암호수학과의 교육과정은 수학 기반 암호학의 체계적인 교육을 바탕으로 정보보안 전문가 양성에 필요한 과정을 균형 있게 제공할 예정이다.
