인문학·과학 넘나드는 융복합 교육으로 4차 산업혁명' 이끈다

각 대학은 4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞아 교육 혁신에 앞장서고 있다.
빅데이터·사물인터넷(IoT)·인공지능(AI)…. 4차 산업혁명 시대를 예고하는 말들이다. 이미 우리 삶과 밀접하게 가까워진 지금, 지식의 상아탑인 대학은 다가오는 미래 시대를 위한 교육 혁신에 앞장서고 있다.
◆ 사회 수요에 맞는 가치 창출
국민대학교는 2017학년도부터 인문기술융합학부(HAT)를 신설했다. 인문계 학생들에게는 기술과 디자인 교육을 통하여 취업경쟁력을 향상시키고, 공과대 학생들에게는 인문 소양 교육을 통하여 창의력을 향상시켜 사회수요에 맞는 융합형 인재를 양성하는 것이 목적이다.
HAT은 인문사회계열·예술계열·이공계열 등 서로 다른 학문 분야를 결합한 ‘융합전공’을 운영한다. 3·4학년 학생들이 융합전공을 제2전공 또는 부전공으로 선택해 이수하게 된다. 융합전공은 유사학문을 단순히 결합하는 방식을 넘어서 인문사회계열과 디자인, 인문사회계열과 이공계열 등 거리가 먼 학문을 융합하여 더 큰 가치가 창출되는 ‘곱하기 융합교육’을 지향하고 있다.
