말 그대로, 그냥 존재하는 자체가 눈에 띄고 돋보인다는 뜻의 용어 - 미친 존재감. 언뜻 보기엔 별다른 점이 없는데 유독 어떤 상황만 만나면 그 존재감을 발휘하는 친구들이 있다. 원래 미친 존재감이라는 말은 TV나 영화 속 연예인을 두고 통용되곤 했지만, 생각해보면 우리 주변에도 미쳐버릴 것 같은 존재감을 지닌 사람들이 있다. 강의실에서, 동아리방에서, 시간과 장소를 가리지 않는 국민대의 미친 존재감들.
어느 프로그램에서 한 코미디언이 했던 말이 생각난다. ‘1등만 기억하는 더러운 세상~’. 미친 존재감은 어쩌면 1등에게만 주목하는 사람들의 반발 심리에서 생겨난 말일지도 모른다. 꼭 뭔가를 잘하고 위대해서가 아니라, 단지 각자 지닌 개성과 노력으로 지금쯤 세상 어디에선가 그 존재감을 알리고 있을 국민*인의 모습이 기대된다. 더 다양하고 더 반짝반짝 빛나는 존재감으로 풍부한 세상이 될 때까지, 미친 존재감 파이팅!
