수학과 박원광 교수가 세계 3대 인명사전 중 하나인 ‘마르퀴즈 후즈 후(Marquis Who's Who in the World) 2011년판 (28th Edition)에 등재 확정되었다.
박원광 교수는 역문제(inverse problems) 분야에서 물체 내부의 얇고 긴 불순물 혹은 균열의 영상화에 대한 연구활동을 수행해 왔으며, 기존의 반복적 방법과 같은 영상화 방법에서 초기값으로 사용될 수 있는 비 반복적 영상화 방법의 개발 등의 주제들을 바탕으로 SCI 저널과 같은 국제학술지 및 학술대회에 다수의 논문을 발표하는 등 관련 분야의 학문발전에 기여한 점이 인정되었다.
마르퀴즈 후즈 후는 1899년 첫 발간된 이래, 세계 각국의 정치, 경제, 사회, 예술, 의학, 과학 분야의 저명인사와 탁월한 지도자를 선정해 그 업적과 이력을 소개하고 있으며, 미국인명정보기관(ABI, American Biographical Institute), 영국 케임브리지 국제인명센터(IBC, International Biographical Centre)과 함께 세계 3대 인명사전으로 알려져있다.
