숙원사업 그린벨트內 건축 - 정부 최종 승인

우리대학에서 오랫동안 염원하던 최대 숙원사업인 교내의 그린벨트 지역 내 건축행위에 대한 국토해양부의 심의가 2010년 12월 16일 최종 확정되어 그동안 모든 구성원의 공간확보에 대한 요구가 일거에 해소되는 값진 쾌거가 이루어 졌다.
금번 국토해양부 중앙도시계획위원회에서는 본교 공학관 후면의 그린벨트 지역 내 건물 증축에 관해 지난 8월 서울시 도시계획위원회에서 심의 통과한‘2011년 수도권 개발제한구역 관리계획 변경 안’을 최종심의하여 대지면적 약2,578㎡(780평), 연면적 약15,205㎡(4,600평)을 건축할 수 있는 원안을 최종 통과시켰다.
이에 따라 공학관 후면의 주차장 부지에 지하2층 및 지상5층 규모의 건물 2개 동에 대해 상세설계를 거쳐 내년 상반기 경에 착공할 수 있도록 계획하고 있다.
이번 쾌거는 2008년부터 이성우 총장을 비롯한 학교 당국의 지속적이고 다각적인 노력의 결과이다. 특히 이번 성과는 ‘KMU1010’의 핵심 추진 분야 중 하나인 시설 인프라 강화사업의 핵심성과를 이루어 내는 계기가 마련되었다고 본다.
