국민대, 쿠웨이트 고등교육부 장관 방문

쿠웨이트 고등교육부 장관(바더르 알 에사)이 지난 10일 오후 국민대학교(총장 유지수)를 방문하였다. 이번 면담에서는 국민대에서 진행하고 있는 경영, 공학, 자연과학계열의 특성화 프로그램을 소개하고 사우디아라비아 및 쿠웨이트 유학생 유치에 관하여 심도있게 논의하였다. 또한 공업디자인학과 장중식 교수의 안내로 3D 프린터를 소개하는 시간을 비롯하여 캠퍼스 투어가 함께 진행되었다.
쿠웨이트는 고등 교육 분야를 중심으로 교육 서비스 시장이 빠른 속도로 확대되고 있는 국가이다. 향후에는 공·사립대학을 비롯하여 고등교육 기관 학생 수가 크게 늘어날 것으로 전망된다.
유지수 총장은 “쿠웨이트 국립대학과는 기존에 MOU를 체결한 바 있다. 향후 학생, 교수, 연구 등 다양한 분야의 협력을 통하여 지속적인 상호 발전을 이루어 나갈 것” 이라고 밝혔다.
