이동준(정치외교 74학번) 동문, 양천경찰서장으로 근무 중 순직

이동준 동문이 지난 6월 6일 오전 4시50분 신촌 세브란스 병원에서 위장 출혈로 숨졌다. 이 동문은 전날인 5일 오후 5시 양천경찰서장실에서 근무하던 중 갑자기 쓰러져 병원으로 옮겼으나 끝내 회복하지 못하고 세상을 떠났다. 양철경찰서 직원들에 따르면 이 동문은 5.31 지방선거를 앞두고 주말에도 자주 근무를 했으며 선거일 일주일 전부터는 밤늦게까지 지구대를 순시하고 경찰서에서 잠을 자는 등 과로가 누적된 것으로 알려졌다. 더구나 2년 전 방광암 수술을 받았지만 주변 사람들에게 이 사실을 알리지 않고 정상적으로 근무해 주위를 더욱 안타깝게 하고 있다.
이 동문은 지난 1981년 조사간부(경위)로 특채돼 대구지방경찰청 감사담당관, 경북 고령경찰서장, 서울지방경찰성 2기동대장 등을 지냈다. 유족은 부인 박정숙(45)씨와 2남1녀.
빈소는 서울 송파구 가락본동 국립경찰병원 영안실 9호실이다. 발인은 8일 오전 8시30분. 연락처 (02)403-5099.
