응용정보기술학과 대학원생 연속수상

올해 6월 25일-27일 대만 타이페이의 국립대만대학교(NTU)에서 개최한 ’12년 지구관찰 및 사회영향 국제학술대회(International Conference on Earth Observations and Societal Impacts)에 서유경 석사과정생이 우수발표논문상을, 그리고 정인규 석사과정생이 11월 8일-10일 제주대학교에서 개최한 사)한국지리정보학회 추계학술대회에 우수논문상을 각각 수상하였다.
서유경 대학원생의 수상논문 제목 “Mapping of solar energy resources on the Korean peninsula using 5m-DEM and satellite imagery” (아래오른쪽 그림 참조)와 정인규 대학원생의 경우 “소형 무인항공기의 참나무 시듦병 탐지활용” (아래왼쪽 그림 참조)을 통한 각 심사평은 대학원생으로서 보기 드문 학문발전과 창의적 기술개발에 기여한 점이다.
이와 같은 수상결과는 본교대학원의 AIT학과만이 갖는 순수과학이론과 응용과학기술의 융합교육에 대한 산물(즉, Bread in AIT)이기도 하지만, 오히려 수상한 두 AIT학과생이 학부시절부터 국내학술대회의 논문발표 경험을 바탕삼아 ‘실력만이 국민대학 교명을 빛낼 수 있다’는 사명감 아래 정진한 노력으로 보아야 할 것이다.
참고로 응용정보기술학과(영 : Dept. of Applied Information Technology : AIT, 담당교수 : 김천)는 ’07년도 1학기 일반대학원 협동과정에 저비용 고효율의 연구교육 시스템으로 설립되었다.
