2013 한국정보전자통신기술학회 추계학술대회 우수논문상 수상 / 전자공학부

지난 10월 25일~26일에 열린 ‘한국정보전자통신기술학회 추계학술대회’에서 본교 전자공학부 김용민, 이승화, 박창우, 전미영 학생(지도교수 : 정구민)이 ‘Tesseract를 활용한 정보 검색 및 수식 계산에 대한 OCR연구’로 우수논문상을 수상했다.
이 논문에서는 Tesseract 엔진을 이용하여 문자 및 수식을 인식하고 인식된 문자를 구글 검색 엔진을 통해 웹에서 검색하거나 수식 계산 사이트 Wolfram Alpha와 연동하여 수식을 계산할 수 있도록 앱을 설계하고 구현하였다.
김용민, 이승화 학생은 “안드로이드 수업이 본 연구에 큰 도움이 되었고 이러한 성과를 얻게 되어 보람을 느낀다”며 “앞으로 더욱 노력하여 발전해 가겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
논문에서의 연구는 2013년 1학기에 개설된 ‘안드로이드 프로그래밍’ 수업에서 진행한 프로젝트를 바탕으로 하였으며, 이 수업은 서울시 창조 모바일 사업(교재 및 세미나비)와 SK Planet T-Academy(테스트용 스마트폰 20대)로부터 지원받아 진행되었다.
