미국기계학회(ASME) Turbo Expo 학술대회 Young Engineer Travel Award 수상 / 이종성(대학원 기계설계학과 13) 동문

국민대학교 일반대학원 기계설계학과 석사학위 졸업생 (2015년 2월 졸업) 이종성 동문이 지난 6월 15일부터 19일까지 일주일간 캐나다 몬트리올에서 개최된 미국기계학회(ASME) Turbo Expo 학술대회 및 전시회에서 Young Engineer Travel Award를 수상하였다. ASME Turbo Expo는 매년 1000 편 이상의 Peer review 학술논문이 발표되며 3000명 이상의 터보기계 관련 산학연 연구자가 참석하는, 미국기계학회가 주최하는 학술대회 중 가장 큰 규모를 자랑한다. 올해로 60주년을 맞는 ASME Turbo Expo는 그동안 유럽과 북미에서만 개최되어 왔던 관행에서 벗어나 2016년에는 아시아에서 최초로 한국에서 개최된다.
이종성 동문은 현재 국민대학교 대학원 기계설계학과의 진동저감 기계설계 연구실(지도교수: 김태호 교수)에서 연구원으로 재직 중이며 본 학술대회에서 포스터 발표 포함 총 2편의 논문을 발표하였다. 본 수상은 이종성 동문이 친환경 무급유 터보기계용 가스 포일 저널 베어링 기술 개발과 관련하여 우수한 논문을 발표하였기에 학회에서 공헌도를 인정하여 수여되었다. 또한, 부상으로 약 350만원에 달하는 참가 경비가 수여되었다.
